The MTV VMAs Most Iconic Looks Then + Now

The most iconic award show red carpet is without a doubt the annual MTV VMAs. When you think of memorable looks that continue to inspire the next generation of celebs, nine times out of ten I guarantee you those looks are from the VMAs. For example, VMAs 1999 when Lil’ Kim forever set a fashion trend with her purple hair and purple sequined one shouldered jumpsuit with a matching pasty or how about in 2000 when Aaliyah wore a leopard print gown with a side slit lined with fur (Bretman Rock wore the exact dress that Aaliyah wore to this year’s VMAs). Oh, and can’t forget about Rose McGowan’s naked look in 1998 or Mariah Carey’s classic black bandeau top and matching skirt with high slit. Another past VMAs look we can’t fail to mention is Lady Gaga’s shocking meat outfit, I know you remember that one.
