Merry Christmas, Here are New Holiday Movies to Watch!

Merry Christmas readers! I hope everyone reading this has enjoyed this holiday despite all thats going on in the world. Because of Covid many can’t be with their families and some people just simply aren’t able to travel to their families. I’m one of those people spending Christmas alone but your Christmas can still have some joy in it! Like me, you can binge watch Christmas movies. I made a list of a few new movies to watch most of which are on Netflix. This post is coming a tad late but the Christmas spirit doesn’t have to die after today! Check out these films any time. I’ll definitely be watching a couple of these tomorrow and maybe even the next day.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey

This Netflix Original is #8 on Netflix’s “Top 10 in the U.S. Today” list. It was released November 6th of this year and is directed by David E. Talbert. Talbert is also the screenplay writer and one of the producers of the film. Jingle Jangle stars a few stars such as Forest Whitaker, Phylicia Rashad, Keegan Michael Key, and Anika Noni Rose.

Holidate

Holidate is also a Netflix Original. The film is starring Emma Roberts (one of my favs) as co-lead along with Luke Bracey. The cast also includes; Kristin Chenoweth, Jessica Capshaw, Manish Dayal, and King Bach.

Summary: Two strangers unlucky in their love life decide to be each others date for every holiday but just as friends but as each holiday comes they become more than just friends.

Happiest Season

Hulu came through with this holiday original film that released November 25th. I really enjoyed this movie I thought it was hilarious but how could we expect anything less with the cast that it has. If you’ve been on twitter or tiktok you’ve probably seen people saying how (spoiler) they wished Abby (Kristen Stewart) ended up with Riley (Aubrey Plaza) but I have an unpopular opinion. I liked how it ended, I’m happy Abby and Harper (Makenzie Davis) made up!

The Christmas Chronicles 2

I’ve never seen the first Christmas Chronicles but i’ll be watching it if not tonight then tomorrow! I love that it’s starring Goldie Hawn as Mrs. Claus and Kurt Russel as Mr. Claus, if you did’t know they have been together since 1983! How cute! The story follows Kate Pierce (Darby Camp) two years later from the first movie. Kate runs away, not happy being with family in Cancun on Christmas and is transported to the North Pole along with her moms new boyfriend Bob’s (Tyrese Gibson) son Jack (Jahzir Bruno). It’s a fun family film full of action and adventure.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square

This Netflix original musical is directed by the iconic Debbie Allen and screenplay written by Dolly Parton with the music composed by Parton as well. The film was released November 22nd. It is starring Dolly Parton as an Angel, Christine Baranski as Regina Fuller, the woman with a cold heart who has plans of selling a town without care for the people there, Jennifer Lewis, Jeanine Mason, and Josh Segarra.
