Shopping in Downtown Des Moines

The city of Des Moines, Iowa is a growing place. Becoming more fashionable, more stylish, more modern, and more efficient seems to be the goal and Des Moines is certainly meeting that goal!

As far as fashion, food, art, and home goods go, downtown Des Moines is building up its end of the bargain with gorgeous modern and vintage boutiques filled with one of a kind accessories, paintings, photographs, and clothing, and there’s also a store AllSpice that gives you oils and spices with a side of delicious recipes.
There are also many great restaurants that I didn’t get a chance to visit last Monday but I will share those with you another day. Although there is one downtown restaurant with a unique take on burgers and fries that I reviewed, see it here.

First I stopped by Domestica; an adorable boutique that sells home goods such as; art, pillows, candles, etc…, accessories, books, and more!

The next stop was across the street. Its vintage photographs and colorful paintings caught my attention!
The photographs and the shop’s name made me wonder, what is the story? Hmm…

The next door down is a classy boutique with unique clothing and accessories,
owned by an Italian designer called Accenti.
I wasn’t allowed to take photos but the pieces were lovely!

Vitae a boutique of “local fashion and independent design” is has edgy vintage designs with fun prints and patterns!

My last stop was at a fabulous chic boutique, Aimee. Aimee has all of today’s trends in a bright assortment of colors. And not only do they have clothing but stylish lipsticks too!
